I was very sorry to learn today of the untimely passing of Bayfield resident Mark Musolf, who was killed Tuesday in a car accident. We became acquainted when I was covering the Bayfield City Council, of which he was a member.

Mark Musolf and his wife, Jocelyn, in a picture taken from their B&B's website. As of Wednesday afternoon, Jocelyn was still being treated for injuries sustained in the car accident.
He was a very proper sort of fellow who was very proud of his two Bichons, Max and Sophie, about which we often talked. He seemed to take them everywhere and take great pleasure in having them groomed. One time, when I was walking down the street in Bayfield with my Bichon mix, I ran into him and his Bichons. He dubbed the occasion a “Bichon-athon,” which I thought very clever.
He will be missed by our community.
